Level Up Basketball · Last updated October 1, 2026

Level Up Basketball is a youth basketball programme on Long Island. This policy explains what information we collect when a family registers with us, what we do with it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written for parents, not for lawyers.

Who we are

Level Up Basketball. You can reach us about anything in this policy at LevelUpLongIsland@gmail.com or on 516 242 5599.

Children

Our programmes are for young athletes. Most of our players are under 18 and many are under 13. Only a parent or guardian can register a player. We do not collect information directly from a child under 13. Accounts are created by adults. If you think a child gave us information without a parent involved, tell us and we will delete it. If you are a parent and want to see what we have about your child, fix it, or have it deleted, just ask. We will never make your child's spot in the programme depend on you giving us more than we need.

What we collect

  • Registration details. Player name, date of birth, school or grade, and the parent's name, email and phone number.
  • Emergency and medical information. Emergency contacts, plus any allergies, conditions or medications you tell us about, so we can keep your child safe at practice or a game.
  • Payment information. Handled by our payment company. We never store card numbers.
  • Programme information. Teams, schedules, attendance, and messages between coaches, staff and families.
  • Website information. Basic technical information like which pages were visited, collected automatically when you use the site.

Photos and video

We take photos and video at practices, games and events. We may use them on our website, on our Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok and YouTube accounts, and in materials about the programme. We do not sell pictures of players and we do not give them to anyone outside Level Up. If you would rather your child not appear, just tell us and we will make sure they do not. Saying no will not affect your child's spot, their playing time, or how they are treated. If a photo of your child is already up and you want it taken down, tell us and we will take it down.

How we use it

  • To run the programme: registration, teams, schedules, talking to families.
  • To keep players safe. Coaches and staff can see emergency and medical information.
  • To take payment for fees.
  • To tell families about programmes, tryouts and events. You can stop these any time.

We do not sell your information, and we do not give it to anyone for their own marketing.

Who else sees it

  • LeagueApps, who run our registration at levelupli.leagueapps.com, along with payments, scheduling and messaging. Their own policies are at leagueapps.com/privacy-policy and leagueapps.com/youth_athlete_privacy.
  • Our payment company, to take and record fees.
  • Leagues and tournaments, when we have to confirm a player is eligible to enter an event.
  • Our coaches and staff, only for the families they are responsible for.
  • If the law requires it, or if it is needed to protect a child.

Advertising

We use Facebook and LinkedIn to see how our site is used and to tell people about our programmes. These services may set cookies. We do not advertise to children. You can opt out at optout.aboutads.info or in your browser settings.

How long we keep it

We keep registration and programme records while your family is with us, and for 3 years after, so we can confirm past participation and meet our insurance and accounting requirements. Medical and emergency information is deleted sooner, once that season is over. You can ask us to delete anything earlier.

Keeping it safe

Your information is held by LeagueApps and by our payment company, both of which use standard security protection. Inside Level Up, only the coaches and staff who need it can see it. No system is perfect, and if something goes wrong we will tell affected families quickly.

What you can ask us to do

  • Show you what we have about you or your child.
  • Fix anything that is wrong.
  • Delete it.
  • Keep your child out of photos and video.
  • Stop sending you emails.

Email LevelUpLongIsland@gmail.com and we will get back to you within 30 days. Asking for any of these will never affect your child's place in the programme.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If it is a big change, we will tell families directly rather than expecting anyone to notice.
